First of all, thank you to everyone who attended our open house last weekend. We appreciated your support of us and the small businesses we partner with as we presented some of our diverse and delicious products. We hope you enjoyed the food sampling, workshops, and Q&A sessions.
This weekend, celebrate Mother's Day at our farm! Despite challenging spring weather, our annual flower containers and hanging baskets are looking beautiful and full. Discover our diverse selection of annuals, nursery stock, fruit trees, perennials, and native plants. Our garden center is a visual feast of color after all the grey weather we’ve had.

Our garden center also offers a comprehensive selection of garden amendments, including trusted Coast of Maine products, cocoa shells, bagged mulch, and Pro-Mix. We rely on Pro-Mix as our growing medium for greenhouse tomatoes, retail packs, hanging baskets, and patio planters. Coast of Maine provides excellent soil options, ideal for enhancing your garden or using independently, and we particularly recommend their soil for raised beds.
Raised beds offer a controlled environment for growing various vegetables, providing benefits such as improved soil conditions, drainage, and easier plant maintenance. We recently received a new shipment of White Vermont Cedar raised beds and planting tables, so if you want to start a garden, expand a garden, or get back to gardening, come visit us. (See our special raised bed garden packages.)
In addition to flowers, shrubs, and herbs, you’ll also find healthy vegetable plants. While we’re growing vegetable seedlings for our fields, we’re also growing them for your garden. What’s the advantage of using our plants in your garden versus seedlings you might find elsewhere?
Â
One advantage to getting your vegetable seedlings from us is that when we grow the plants here at the farm, they are subjected to far less stress than plants that need to travel long distances. Since we’re growing them alongside plants we grow for our fields, you can be sure we’re carefully monitoring and caring for them, which also reduces the stress. Less stress means healthier plants, and healthier plants mean better harvests.
Â
Another advantage of getting your vegetable plants from us is the varieties we offer. As farmers growing food for you, we select plants for their flavor and ability to thrive in the sometimes challenging conditions of the lakes region. We also carry varieties of some vegetables, such as heirloom tomatoes, that can be difficult to find elsewhere. Â
Speaking of growing vegetables, be sure to visit our events page for information on the free vegetable gardening workshops John will be having during the next few weeks. In response to the many questions we’ve been receiving, we’ve added a new workshop on raised bed vegetable gardening. Due to the popularity of our workshops, please pre-register for these workshops.

With quality plants, products, and the expertise of our friendly team, you’ll find everything necessary for a beautiful and successful garden in our garden center.

Happy gardening!
