Jeff's Farm Update: Garden Center Transformation, Our Open House, and New Workshops

Our farm team has had a busy two weeks, so here are a few quick updates on what’s been happening:

Garden Center Transformation

It never stops amazing me how quickly our greenhouses transform from empty spaces to lush, thriving environments in just a matter of weeks. Our field crew and garden center team have put in long hours, and the results truly speak for themselves. Hanging baskets are filling out beautifully, our vegetable starts are shooting up and our geraniums are thriving.

Out in our fields, several acres of corn and peas are already in the ground. Even with that pace, our field crew has found time to help set up our garden center yard. We’ve received new shipments of fruit trees, shrubs, and perennials, and another delivery is arriving this week.

We’re right on the doorstep of planting season, so now’s the time to get your flower beds and gardens ready. Fertilizers, amendments, soils, mulches, and seeds are all fully stocked and ready to help you have a better garden.

Spring Open House – Saturday, May 2

Join us this weekend for our annual Spring Open House! This has always been a highlight of the start of the season, and we’re excited to bring it back again.

We’ll be hosting a food court featuring a mix of new and returning small businesses that partner with us.  Visit with them and sample some of their products.  Our farm bakery will be debuting several new recipes and would love your feedback. Kali and our farm kitchen crew are also preparing some new offerings you won’t want to miss.

At 10 AM, Sue will be leading  a hands-on “Planting Your Container Garden” workshop.  Sign up for this paid workshop, and you’ll go home with your own creation of plants to kick off gardening season.  Register by clicking here or by calling us at 603-279-3915.

At 1 PM, JP Swift, a local beekeeper and Moulton Farm team member of over 30 years, will host an informational session on bees and pollinators, how they support your garden, and what you can do to support them.

Gardening Workshops & More

Our workshops this spring have been a big hit, drawing gardeners of all experience levels eager to learn and ask questions. If you missed one, don’t worry—there are more planned informational workshops throughout May and June.
