Good Gardening Workshop: Site, Soils & Nutrition for Your Vegetable Garden
We’re kicking off the 2021 gardening season with a live workshop that will help you have vegetable gardening success. Learn how to create the number one contributor to a productive vegetable garden: a healthy growing environment. This workshop is being offered via live stream video and an “in person” option to a limited number of pre-registered people.
“It’s really no mystery what contributes to healthy, productive plants,” says John. “It’s your growing environment. What is in your soil, what isn’t there, what the light conditions are, and how much water your garden or containers get is what really determines how productive your plants are. If your plants are getting too much nutrition or water, you’re going to have issues. If they aren’t getting enough, you’ll have issues.”
John will share his decades of experience on how to have a growing environment that results in plants producing vegetables. Learn how to care for your soil, when and how to fertilize and when not to, and what watering practices support healthy plants and discourage plant diseases and pests.
As the health and safety of our community and our team remains a top priority for us, we are offering two ways to attend this event:
We will live stream the workshop via Facebook Live. There is no cost for this option. A Facebook account is not required to view the live event. You can also access the live event at this link: https://youtu.be/ob9uV5LiKO4
The "in person" event is limited to 20 people, and you must pre-register by calling the farm at 279-3915. Masks are required and social distancing requirements will be in effect. There is a $10 per person fee to register. Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Meredith Emergency Food Pantry.
