John's Update: The State of the Farm

The entire farm crew is pleased to report that we will soon be completing a very successful year.

We sincerely appreciate all the support and business we received from you during the year. We also thank the many landowners who allowed us to use acreage to grow crops on their property.

With a fantastic crew of over twenty five local employees, we were able to harvest crops from over sixty five acres, greenhouses, and extended season growing tunnels. We were also able to supply gardeners with farm grown quality plant material, supplies, and growing advice.

Our farm kitchen and bakery operated every day from March to December producing great meals to go and farm to table dinners attended by many during the growing season. Creative, delicious desserts, breads and pies were always in demand.

Thanks also to your support, we were able to make over six hundred donations to nonprofit organizations ranging from gift cards and farm share baskets to an entire farm to table dinner. The Meredith Altrusa Club picked up over two thousand pounds of our surplus produce and distributed it to multiple groups throughout the community.

We look forward to welcoming you back to the farm in 2019. Look for changes in our market, new products as well as your favorites, new ideas, and our first hydroponic system that should be up and operating in one of our greenhouses. The entire crew is already excited to get going for 2019.
