Jeff's Update: Special hours for Thanksgiving week

This time of year, delicious scents from our farm kitchen and bakery fill our farm market.  The pleasant aromas of farm fresh meat pies, roasted butternut squash, loaves of harvest bread, and sweet potato pecan pie fill the air.  With Thanksgiving only one week away, Jonathan, Trisha, and Kali are in full cooking and baking mode.  They are taking orders and prepping for a very busy build up to the holiday season. Please keep in mind that orders are always a good idea to ensure you get your preferred pie, bread or side dish.

Our schedule is a bit different during Thanksgiving week. We will be open until 6:30 pm on Wednesday, November 21, for those last minute pick-ups.  We will be closed on Thanksgiving Day. Cider Bellies will be open on Wednesday, November 21,  from 8 am to 4 pm and their usual hours on Friday through Sunday.

Our fields have been put to bed for the winter, and we finished taking soil samples.   This allows us to properly plan for next year.   Soon, we will be covering our strawberries and garlic with straw.  This will prevent the berries from freezing and thawing over the next few months.

The field crew has been staying warm on these cold mornings by cutting greens and making wreaths.  They will be headed up to the tree farms to pick up our Christmas trees this week.  In one of our greenhouses poinsettia leaves have started changing to vibrant colors of red, pink, and white.   Sue and Sandy have already begun decorating wreaths as the Christmas decorating season will soon be upon us.  To help you prepare,  Sue and Sandy are hosting some fabulous workshops over the next few weeks.

Despite the colder weather, we are still open seven days a week except for Thanksgiving and Christmas, so stop in and say hello!
