Although the large white farmhouse on the property was built in 1811, the land around the house was not adapted for farm use until 1891, when purchased by Austin Moulton.
For the first 50 years the Moulton Farm was a cattle farm, however in 1941 the farm transitioned to dairy production. Dairy use continued for 25 years, and the farm ceased daily production in 1966.
In the 1980's, the farm transitioned into produce and farm market business. The current farm stand was constructed in 1990, across the road from the original farmhouse. Greenhouses were added in 1993, used to grow many of the potted and bedding plants that are available for purchase to the farm's many visitors. In 2003, the farm stand was expanded to include a fully licensed commercial kitchen and bakery, complete with an expanded retail area.
In 1996, Moulton Farm was awarded "A Farm of Distinction" by the New Hampshire Department of Agriculture. Still owned and operated by the Moulton Family (who still inhabits the White Farmhouse on the property), the farm is now in perpetual conservation and will always be used for agriculture or forestry.
